What is an Avatara? From avatara.org

"AVATAR is a word that is commonly heard but rarely understood. In English, the word has come to mean "an embodiment, a bodily manifestation of the Divine." However, the Sanskrit word Avatara means "the descent of God" or simply "incarnation." Here is the definition based on India's ancient Vedas, the oldest and most comprehensive spiritual literature known to man:

The Avatara, or incarnation of Godhead, descends from the kingdom of God for [creating and maintaining the] material manifestation. And the particular form of the Personality of Godhead who so descends is called an incarnation, or Avatara. Such incarnations are situated in the spiritual world, the kingdom of God. When They descend to the material creation, They assume the name Avatara. ( Chaitanya-caritamrita 2.20.263 -264)

An Avatara is a personal form of the Supreme Being and innumerable such divine forms reside in an eternal spiritual realm. When a personal form of God descends from that higher dimensional realm to the material world, He (or She) is known as an incarnation, or Avatara. "

Jumba Fri

Biography: "Jumbafri was born and raised in the small mountain town of Los Alamos, New Mexico. He has been into music of all sorts ranging from Hip-hop to Death Metal, classic rock to funk and everything in between. His first encounter with electronic music was in 2001 when a friend loaned him a copy of Adam Freelands Coastal Breaks Vol. 2. "Ever since I first heard that cd I was hooked not only to electronic music, but just to Breakbeats of all sorts mostly," he says. He attended many electronic events, mainly mountain parties and desert "raves" for the next few years. Then in late 2005 he ran into DJ Tearah who was just starting out spinning house parties on some Gemini CDJ's. "We hung out a bit, and soon after that we just set up his gear at my house. So I had all this gear at my house and a lot of free time back then, so I would just mess around occasionally learning to beatmatch." He learned quickly and gained a passion for breakbeats as his friend DJ Tearah moved on to vinyl, and stared to get bookings. Moving past the digital phase quickly as well, it was only a few months after that, in the fall of 2006, Jumbafri ordered his first set of vinyl as well as a used Numark DJ in a Box set off of ebay, and began truly learning to DJ. He never slowed down or looked back from there, acquiring more and more vinyl weekly over the next year he managed to record two demo mixes. The first in late august 2007 titled "Sounds like These," was a compilation mix mainly using tracks that inspired him in the same way and similar styles to the early Adam Freeland mixes he used to listen to. The next mix was recorded in November 2007 called "Slightly Insane", and this is the first good taste of what the Jumbafri sound really is. "I like breakbeats of all styles, but my sound is very partial to funky, techy, and party style breaks with lots of vocals. You might even feel a little bit of hip-hop and bigbeat flavor, and I think that is what really makes up my sound." Then in December 2007 Jumbafri finally acquired his first set of Technics. He has managed to release two more demos in 2008, starting in February with "Injecting Your Ears With a Dose of Vocal Breaks." And then releasing "Ooops!!!" in December. There are many new sounds in progress so keep an eye out! 2008 was a great year. I really got out the and got my shit going. And 2009 is looking even better. Now on board with Formb music it can only get better from here. Currently working on breaking some uncharted musical territories for me, with dj mixes of Glitch, Midtempo, and Dubstep all in the works. Oh and dont worry i havent forgotten my roots more breaks will follow shortly after :)"
